We are delighted to announce our very first audio drama competition, in partnership with the Voice Over Academy. The Moore Audio Drama Competition encourages and celebrates the best writings for the fast-changing and growing audio medium.

The Competition

Write an audio drama story or short story adaptable to the audio medium, for a chance to win a ₦100,000 cash prize and get your story turned into a fully produced audio drama for FREE!

Entry Rules

  • We are looking for original and unexpected stories
  • Stories should be centred around the theme; 'survival'. (You can tell this with your choice of plot)
  • Stories can be in any genre (comedy, thriller, drama, etc)
  • Stories must be no more than 1500 words or 10 minutes when timed
  • Stories should have between 1-3 characters (monologues are welcome)
  • Stories should be submitted in MS Word file, formatted to Courier, font size 12
  • Remember, stories should be written with audio in mind
  • You can only enter one story, so make it count
  • Stories co-written by multiple writers are not allowed
  • Competition opens on January 17th, 2022 and closes 11:59pm, February 6th, 2022

Meet The Judges

Seun Shobo

Oluwaseun SHOBO is an incredibly gifted individual. Fondly called the BrandMASTER, Shobo is a sought after brand consultant, premium voice over talent and an inspirational speaker. With over two decades as an active player in the voice-over industry; his passion for its growth and a need to groom African talents for global takeover inspired him to start The Voice Over Academy, the pioneer training hub for voice talents in Africa which has produced some of Africa’s biggest contemporary voices and content creators. One of which is the Letters to boys podcast, a podcast he helped co-create with Femi Olugbade a.k.a FemiBakes. The podcast has now become a Nigerian favourite and a recipient of Google PRX podcast creators program.

Fay Fay

Fay, Fay is an audio producer and podcaster. She runs a podcast production and solutions brand called 808Xtra Sounds, where she's produced numerous podcasts and audio drama including the acclaimed 'My Name is A-Zed' and 'Aso Ebi'. She's currently team lead at Naija Pod Hub, where she's helping shape and grow the podcast community in Nigeria.

Mazi'no Appeal

They call Mazi'no Radio God, probably because he is. With over a decade of radio production experience, he's definitely someone who knows the ins and out of the audio industry. He's an exceptional voice actor whose narration sucks you into whatever story he's bringing to life. And just like what they say about wine, his voice keeps getting better. He's currently one of the hosts of TVC's Breakfast Show.

Mayowa Adeyemi

Mayowa is an exceptional storyteller who understands words and has her way with them. Armed with this, she’s written many brand stories for the likes of MTN, Lux and Verve. She has an exceptional voice and an audio clip on Reels that has been downloaded and used over ten thousand times. Mayowa is currently a UI/UX writer with Flutterwave. She enjoys reading African fiction and writing poetry in her spare time.

Chisom

Chisom is a story teller who believes In the magic of brand building through short and concise story-telling. During the day she manages some of the biggest luxury spirits brands in the world and in her spare time (which is rare) she writes stories imagined or lived at Imali by Chisom. While Chisom appreciates that life could be a tragedy she also believes in the appreciation of the smaller joys of life like opening up a watermelon to discover that it is red and sweet.

Nancy Aizojie

Nancy is an all-round creative soul; a writer, storyteller and an antique/interior decor sorceress. With over 8 years experience in advertising and having created many memorable campaigns, Nancy is a force to be reckoned with. When not lending her storytelling skills to build brands, she's either sourcing affordable decor items for homes or creating iconic sets for movies or stage productions.

Chuka Obi

Chuka needs no introduction. He's one of the very few people who have walked the whole yards of the creative industry. He's a master storyteller and the guy behind the famous MTN I don port campaign, amongst others. He's a rapper, having dropped a solo album, Coat of Arms. He also had a massive contribution to Burna Boy's Grammy Award-winning album, Twice As Tall. He's currently Director of creativity and innovation at Glo.

Ayo Moore

And then there’s Ayo. He’s the founder and creative director of Moore Audio. He’s extremely passionate about the medium and he’s written and produced several audio dramas including the psychological thriller; Death by Scrabble. His experience in advertising spans over 10 years and this has given him the playbook in understanding the kind of content that turns on listeners and brands.

Terms and Conditions

  • You will warrant that your story submitted was written by you and did not infringe the rights of any third party.
  • Moore Audio will have full editorial control of all winning stories and retains the right to edit or rewrite parts or scenes of the stories.
  • Moore Audio also reserves the right to exclude any entry from the competition at any time at its absolute discretion if there is a reason to believe that an entrant has plagiarised an existing story, acted fraudulently or done anything which brings Moore Audio into disrepute.
  • By entering this competition, participants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these rules.
